The Malta Town Board’s meeting room was packed with citizens November 5, as dozens showed up for both the celebration of Ernest Kunz’s 100th birthday and for the public hearing on the two percent tax cap in Malta.

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saratoga Hospital is bringing doctors to downtown Saratoga Springs, opening up a brand-new facility in the heart of the city to care for those who lack health insurance and are otherwise forced to wait in the hospital’s busy emergency room facility.
WILTON – The town clerk – the go-to person in any municipality. Need a dog license? How about a marriage license? Want the minutes from a board meeting, a copy of a local law, or want to know the best back roads to get around heavy holiday traffic? MALTA- The majority of the January 7 Malta Town Board meeting focused on resolving the ongoing issue of a resident’s lack of driveway maintenance at his home on Ruhle Road North, which has allegedly been causing problems in his neighborhood for around four years.
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Dozens of members and supporters of the Saratoga Film Forum showed up to a special meeting March 27 to discuss the future relevance of the organization as it prepares to compete with the downtown location of Bow-Tie Cinemas, scheduled to open later this summer.

SARATOGA SPRINGS – It was worth all those 5 a.m. winter mornings on Fish Creek for sisters Claire and Caroline Murphy. Bundling up for the cold did not stop the bitter wind from biting at the exposed skin on their faces and hands or keep spray from the smooth water from sinking into the layers of clothes as their muscles strained to maintain the strenuous rhythm of oars to water.
SARATOGA SPRINGS – After being restricted by one-year special use permits, Siro’s Restaurant won approval at Wednesday night’s Saratoga Springs Planning Board Meeting for a two-year permit, thus opening the door for them to seek investors to help make improvements to the popular summer night spot.
WILTON – With a very successful recreation program under their belt, Wilton town officials are looking at new ways to offer more passive recreational programs that would benefit all ages and abilities.
Let’s try to recall what was happening in our lives ten years ago, back in 2003. What was the biggest challenge at that time? For two community members, they each had a son facing deployment overseas, heading off to war to serve our country. Cliff Seguin and Terri Perry are the parents of those service members. Cliff’s son deployed to Kuwait; Terri’s to Iraq.
